DESCRIPTION:
A. Brocot & Delettrez, Paris, France, for Tiffany, Young & Ellis, New York, double dial calendar clock, 8 day, time and strike with rolling moon and calendar indicating day, date, and month perpetually, spring driven movement with visible Brocot escapement in a molded white marble case with white enamel dials, beveled glasses, and blued steel hands.
CONDITION:
The white marble case has a few very tiny chips along a few edges, but no major losses. Striking is the fact that the large back door is intact. Sadly, someone engraved a Social Security Number into the top of the back door. If placed against a wall, this will not be visible. Enamel clock dial is excellent. The signature of retailer is clear and sharp. The calendar dial is also in excellent condition, showing the days and months in English and the rolling moon on a field of stars. The well made time and strike movement with open Brocot escapement on the dial, with original carnelian pallets. The movement is signed. Both movements look clean. A very nice example.
